Deck Overview:

Earth Rite Runecraft (or Earth Rune for short) is very different than the other rune decks. It is based on the principles of "Creation" and "Destruction". Using many cards and abilities to summon "Earth Sigils" and then using certain abilities to destroy the sigils and gain powerful effects.

Deck Staples:

Often dubbed "The Baby Maker" Juno's secret factory is a very important part of the dirt rune archetype. It places 3/3 Guardian Golems in play and make it difficult for people to break through. If you have an earth sigil in play, it can immediately summon a guardian golem! Meaning that on its first turn you can have 2 3/3 bodies in play with ward going into your opponents next turn!

Giving much needed consistency to do the deck, Dwarf alchemist allows you to place an earth sigil immediately into your hand . He also has the added bonus to add a card from your deck to your hand that has the [earth rite] ability in its card effect! If you are lucky enough, you could pull a Juno's or...

This card can completely devastate your opponents board. With [earth rite] it can banish followers with 5 defense or less. This also only hits your opponents board! Meaning your followers are completely unaffected by this card! Use it to clear out your opponents followers and press for damage!

Deck Progression:

Early Game:

  • As this is a control deck, use your early sigils such as Red-Hot Ritual, Gingerbread House, and Price of Magic to take out your opponents followers. You want to keep as much damage off of you as possible. 
  • Almost always trade, there is no reason to go face unless your opponent has no followers or if you have no profitable trades. You want to survive to the late game so don't leave any damage that you don't have to. 

Mid Game:

  • Begin setting up your defensive wall. Use Ancient Alchemist and Golem Assault to help you begin setting up guardian golems. 
  • Try to Preserve your evolution points if you can but if you are running Dark Angel Olivia, then you might not have to do that. Just depends on your deck configuration. 
  • Professor of Taboos and Master Mage Levi can help with keeping your opponents board clear. Professor also helps develop threats on board so he can make a powerful finisher. 
  • Use Petrification to banish problem followers or amulets. 

Late Game:

  • Generally the late game of choice for this deck is Prince of Darkness but you want to be able to set up winning the game earlier than that. 
  • Juno's Secret Laboratory is very good at keeping constant threats on board. It can be very difficult for your opponent to break through it.
