Rotation Core Cards

Expansion: Base Set
Expansion: Dawnbreak, Nightedge
Expansion: Starforged Legends
Expansion: Omen of the Ten

Insight: A really simple card that this deck. It helps you spellboost and makes sure to keep cards in your hand to help you to make it easier to activate your Abomination Awakened.

Runie, Destiny Bard: Runie is one of the best cards in the deck! The reason is due to it's ability to give you card draw to dig and spellboost but one of the best modes of this card is actually the Prophecy of Doom. Prophecy is actually an additional win condition in the event that you are unable to get Giant Chimera up to where you need it or if you are were unable to draw it.

Giant Chimera: The primary win condition of the deck. You want to get this card into your hand as early as possible so that you can begin spellboosting it. It is important to remember that this card will not be doing much of anything until the late game.

Apostle of Truth: Have a dead spellboost card in your hand that you cannot use anymore? Well, this card can help you get rid of that card and get another spellboost card from your deck. The card it gets gains all of the spellboost of the previous card!

Rotation Alternative Options

Expansion: Brigade of the Sky

Cagliostro, Adorable Genius: Caglistro is an excellent card to put into this deck in the event that you happen to come across more aggressive lineups. She can also double as a way to help weaken your opponent for your combo finish through the use of Ars Magna.

Rotation Budget Options

Expansion: Dawnbreak, Nightedge

Apostle of truth -> Witch of Foresight: Not a true replacement for this card. But it does help get spells out of your deck to make it easier to draw into your win condition.

Rotation Deck Mulligans

  • Insight

  • Giant Chimera

    • This is only a keep if you have multiple low cost cards in your hand. Otherwise, mulligan.

  • Golem Assault

  • Runie Destiny’s Bard

  • Vesper, Witchhunter

  • Fate's hand

Rotation General Gameplan and Tips/Tricks

  • You want to have Giant Chimera in your hand as early as possible so that you don’t have to dig for it and so that you can begin spellboosting it as quickly as possible.
  • Your biggest goal is to protect yourself. Everything else is secondary to that strategy with this deck.

  • Whenever possible, GO FACE! I know this is generic advice but one of the more common things that take place with this deck is that players will be too defensive and ultimately will miss out on damage they could have taken advantage of. Hitting your opponent when you are able is a good way to soften them up for the Giant Chimera Finisher!

  • If you are lacking Giant Chimera, you can use Runie’s Prophecy of Doom as an alternate win condition. It is a bit slower than Giant Chimera but it also does help with finishing the game.
