Rotation Archetype Overview

Lindworm Dragoncraft is deck that revolves around its finisher, Lindworm, that can transform into two different followers, each with devastating effects! The condition for this transformation requires the player to play at least 10 non-follower cards and have 10 PP, so it is important to utilize many low-cost spells and amulets, as well as PP boost as much as possible! The condition may not be the easiest to fulfill, but it will definitely be worth it because Lindworm will then transform into either Virtuous Lindworm, which allows you to heal and draw cards, or Iniquitous Lindworm, a 10/10 follower that has Storm and ignores your opponent’s Ward abilities!

Expansion: Brigade of the Sky

Seraphic Blade: An extremely useful destruction spell at all points during the game. Simply trading a 2-cost spell for a 2-cost follower is great enough, but this card goes even further and can destroy amulets! If this card is played for its Enhance cost, it can destroy any follower or amulet. Currently, this card is a great way to deal with Acceleratium (Portalcraft) and Tenko’s Shrine (Havencraft).

Adramelech: This card is extremely versatile, supporting this deck’s draw engine and mid- to late-game board control. As this deck has ample non-follower cards, one can expect his Fanfare effect to easily reach its full potential.

Lindworm: The primary finisher of the deck. The deck consists of many low-PP non-follower cards to get this out as soon as possible. Most of the time, Iniquitous Lindworm can follow the turn after Zooey, to deal nearly 20 damage.

Zooey, Arbiter of the Skies: Zooey has the ability to be utilized as a 1-cost, 1 draw spell (just like Insight), or it has the ability to be a powerful damage source to aid Lindworm’s lethal blow. On top of that, Zooey has the ability to nullify any damage to the leader for one turn (player defense becomes 1), essentially avoiding the opponent's lethal plays, such as from Lindworm, Giant Chimera, or Safira, Synthetic Beast.

Rotation Alternative Options

Expansion: Chronogenesis
Expansion: Dawnbreak, Nightedge
Expansion: Brigade of the Sky
Expansion: Chronogenesis

Dragon Horde: A cheap spell that helps with Lindworm’s condition. In the mid-game, the Maelstrom Dragon produced from this spell can help aid in board control or pressure the opponent with damage.

Waters of the Orca: This spell is useful in maintaining tempo throughout the game, by keeping opponent followers in check, as well as pressuring the opponent when the match is at a standstill.

Pyrewyrm Commander: A follower that guarantees a Blazing Breath and has the ability to produce a Lightning Blast upon evolution.

Frenzied Drake: A large follower with immense board-wiping potential.

Rotation Budget Options

Of the legendary cards in this deck, Lindworm and Zooey are absolutely necessary finishers. Filene and Adramelech are extremely powerful cards that aids in board control, but is not absolutely necessary for the deck to operate. Instead, gold cards such as Pyrewyrm Commander or Frenzied Drake can be played. Canyon of the Dragons is also a good non-legendary choice, as the amulet itself will satisfy Lindworm’s requirement and the resulting Dragons can apply tons of pressure on the opponent.

Rotation Deck Mulligans

Blazing Breath: This is a must-keep against aggressive decks, especially when going second.

Aiela, Dragon Sword: Mainly kept when going second but also kept when going first as a 2/2 body against aggressive decks.

Somniferous Whitewyrm / Whitefrost Dragonewt Filene / Dragoncleaver Roy: These are all great early-game followers that can help set up and maintain some board control.

Dragon Oracle: Like many other Dragoncraft decks, successful PP boosting is key to the deck’s win condition!

Zooey, Arbiter of the Skies: This card can be used on the first turn to draw a card. Using Zooey in the late game requires that the Accelerate ability is used first, so it is a good card to keep in the mulligan.

Rotation General Gameplan and Tips/Tricks

  • The win condition of the deck is quite clear, and the entire game plan should revolve around it. Focus on PP-boosting early in the game, while using low cost spells to control the board.

  • Save Seraphic Blade or Adramelech for the mid- to late-game to deal with large followers.

  • When faced with a decision on whether to play Zooey first or Iniquitous Lindworm, it is generally better to play Zooey first, because Iniquitous Lindworm cannot be stopped by Ward followers. However, this decision depends on several factors, such as board presence, opponent’s ability to heal, and own life points.
