Rotation Archetype Overview

Summit Temple Havencraft is a deck that is centered around the 1-PP amulet, Summit Temple, which allows allied followers to deal damage equal to its defense, instead of its attack. Havencraft has a plethora of high defense followers, which means that these followers are more likely to persist on the board, while dealing high amounts of damage with Summit Temple’s effect. In the late-game, the deck aims to use the combination of Heavenly Knight and Summit Temple to deal 7 (or 9 with evolution) damage to the opponent!

Rotation Core Cards

Card
Expansion: Chronogenesis
Expansion: Omen of the Ten
Expansion: Dawnbreak, Nightedge
Expansion: Chronogenesis

Summit Temple: The most important card in the deck. When this is on the field, all allied followers will deal damage equal to its defense, instead of attack. This card goes well with many Havencraft followers, as they are generally have higher defense than followers from other classes. The amulet has the ability to draw a card when subsequent Summit Temple is played, avoiding a “dead draw” problem.

Unicorn Knight: A new Havencraft follower that adds a Unicorn or Unicorn Spear to the hand. Unicorn Spear is a great removal card and Unicorn is a solid, mid-sized follower. Since Unicorn Knight itself has high defense, it works well with Summit Temple.

Ceryneian Hind: This legendary card is played at full playsets in most modern Havencraft decks, and its stats makes it a perfect candidate for this deck. All three forms of this card is useful in this deck (mentioned in Rotation General Gameplan and Tips/Tricks).

Heavenly Knight: A 3/7 follower with both Storm and Ward abilities. This card becomes extremely threatening with Summit Temple.

Rotation Alternative Options

Expansion: Chronogenesis
Expansion: Starforged Legends

Expansion: Brigade of the Sky

Beastly Vow: A 2-PP amulet that summons a 4/4 follower with its Last Words effect. Using this card in combination with Gemstone Carapace and Ceryneian Darkhind can flood the board with many mid-sized followers.

Pegasus Dullahan: A follower that has the ability to revive itself by attaching itself to a Countdown amulet. Its Fanfare ability heals defense for all allied followers, essentially raising their ‘attack’ using Summit Temple.

Aether of the White Wing: Able to summon powerful followers from the deck and gives a 1-point boost to all allied followers’ defense.

Arch Priestess Cattleya: Provides another way to access Summit Temple.

Themis's Purge: A great global removal spell that deals with followers that Jeanne, Beacon of Salvation cannot deal with. However, this deck also uses followers to deal damage, so it may not be the best match.

Rotation Budget Options

The legendary cards in the current build are Jeanne, Cereynian Hind, De La Fille, Heavenly Knight, and Garuda. Cereynian Hind and Heavenly Knight are essential to the deck, and there are no budget alternatives for these cards. Jeanne and De La Fille, are cards that have good synergy with the deck, but is not absolutely necessary. De La Fille can be replaced with, for example, Pegasus Dullahan, as they both restore follower defense. Finally, Garuda is a luxury alternate win condition, and can be replaced with other cards. Beastly Vow, as mentioned in the list above, is a great option when under the budget.

Rotation Deck Mulligans

Globe of the Starways: One of the best first turn plays for Havencraft decks.

Summit Temple: Try to keep this card against any deck that is not extremely fast.

Unicorn Knight: Amazing follower for early-game board control.

Gemstone Carapace: This card puts a lot of pressure on the opponent when played early.

Holy Priest Lorena / Blackened Scripture: These cards hold a lot of value when going second. Consider keeping anyway if up against an aggressive deck.

Rotation General Gameplan and Tips/Tricks

  • Summit Temple is not one of those cards that should be played as soon as it is drawn. Doing so will often result in the opponent playing around its effect. Rather, place it right before or on the turn that its effect can be utilized effectively. For example, playing it together with Heavenly Knight for 8-PP can surprise the opponent.

  • Heavenly Knight is spectacular at dealing lots of damage with Summit Temple, but keep in mind that he is also a powerful defensive card.

  • All three forms of Ceryneian Hind are useful. Here are some examples of their use:

    • Ceryneian Hind: This card can search for an amulet upon attacking, and is one way of accessing Summit Temple.

    • Ceryneian Lighthind: As a Rush follower with great stats, this card can get rid of opposing followers without the use of an evolution point. It also heals itself at the end of the turn, making it a great card to use with Summit Temple.

    • Ceryneian Darkhind: This form boasts a ⅗ body with Bane, and reduces the countdown of all allied amulets by 2. This ability goes extremely well with Gemstone Carapace, Beastly Vow, Moriae Encomium, and Whitefang Temple. Time this ability well to flood the board with powerful followers!
