|Deck Cost: 25,550|
Neutral Forest is a deck that heavily relies on its principle card, Beauty and the beast, to be close out games. One of the strengths of this deck is that it's really flexible. That means, you are able to play a midrange/combo variation or heavy late game control variation. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses but for this purposes of this article, we will be talking about the midrange variation.
If you have been watching tournament players on the NGE Shadowverse open or any other tournament stream, you may have seen Neutral Forest pop up here and there. Despite beauty and the beast being such a powerful card, the reason we don't see it more is because this deck generally has a pretty bad game against aggressive decks. Should you even be fortunate enough to land the card, your opponent has already done a very large amount of damage to you in the early game.
Pros and cons
- Access to high amounts good card draw such as Pure Hearted single and Staircase to paradise to help ensure being able to play your boss card, Beauty and the beast.
- Very hard to kill / Nearly unbeatable boss monster.
- Depending on the build, once BnB is dealt with, you have an incredibly difficult time fighting through the game.
- Without BnB, the deck feels incredibly incomplete and difficult to win with.
- Very slow start up.
General Game Flow
The thing about this deck is that it is incredibly simple. You try your absolute best to control the board until you get to turn 6 and jam Beauty and the beast. Cards like Kindly Treant, Elf Twins assault and Hector can be very good for helping you stall your opponent.
One thing about this article that you might notice is that I often mention that card, the reason is because it is literally the singular reason you play the deck! Everything revolves around it. Your handsize, the way you go about how many cards you commit in a turn is all centered around the idea of beauty and the beast.
To keep your hand size up, you play cards like Pure-Hearted Singer, Gormet emperor Khaiza and staircase to paradise. Staircase is particularly good because it draws only followers, increasing your chance that you will get Beauty and the Beast.
It is important to know *when* you can play it though, just playing it on turn 6 can often be a death sentence against some decks because they can ignore it and go face. Make sure that before you play it, you clear a path first so that it makes it difficult for your opponent to kill it. If they are playing a slower deck, you can get away with playing this because they probably won't have a flood of followers on turn 6.
Most of the time, you want to save an evolution point for your beauty and the beast to make it even harder for your opponent to kill when it comes down. Otherwise, don't be afraid to use your spare evo points to keep your opponents board clear.
To finish the game, you have Arriet to combo with your BnB. If BnB is evo'd it can do a whopping 14-18 damage in a single turn finishing out the game almost immediately! However, without BnB, arriet becomes substatially worse but it is possible for it to work with other cards such as Crystalia Aerin and Impartial Strix.

- Dimension Shift Runecraft: This comes down to your availability of Beauty and the beast. If you have it, you can win this match up easily, but if you do not, you are in for a very rough game.
