|Deck Cost: 15,800|
An aggresive swordcraft deck made using the new Tempest of The Gods card Vagabond Frog. It's addition to the deck lets you set up a consistent buff and blade cyclone target while your other storm cards can still win you the game if you don't draw the Frog or it gets destroyed by random effects.
This version of the deck cuts out cards such as Conscription and Well of Destiny to increase the consistency of the deck. Both cards are used in more all in style Frog decks but I believe the ability to include other officers in the deck and not having a anti-tempo turn 2 amulet helps increase your over all winrate.
Aggro Shadow is an unfavourable matchup for this deck. Their ability to quickly swarm the board with early drops and Prince Catacomb will create an annoying board to clear.Orthrus is capable of sniping Vagabond Frog if it's your only follower and it is at 2 hp. Mulligan for low cost cards like Kunoichi Trainee and Whole-Souled Swing to contest the board. A Front Lines followed by a 1 attack follower or Whole-Soul Swing works well to contest 2 hp enemy followers. Play around a turn 4 Orthrus killing your Vagabond Frog if possible. If the board for Shadow is weak enough you can evolve your Frog and other storm followers to race them down.
Other Shadow decks that are Midrange or Control are easier to deal with as they have less chance to curve out to pressure you or deal with the Frog..
The main strategy in beating control Haven decks is to play around their removal cards. Flood the board early to play around Tribunal to give your Frog some breathing room. A turn 5 Lion Spirit can kill your frog if it's at 2 hp. A turn 6 Themis will clear the board for both sides but will give you back the initiative. Avoid trading with their followers if possible and keep hitting them in the face so your storm followers can eventually seal you the game.
Again Storm Haven take favourable trades to avoid excess damage and set up your Frog to race down the opponent. A buffed follower combined with Cyclone Blade can punish hard the followers that come from their amulets. Play around a turn 6 Jeanne to avoid a surprise lethal from your opponent.
Ramp Dragon is one of the strongest decks to emerge following the ToTG expansion but it is a favourable matchup for you. Dragon decks lack an answer to deal with a buffed Frog hitting their face in over and over before a turn 10 Bahamut or a turn 6 Breath of the Salamander killing a 2hp Frog. Put pressure with your early followers and the Frog and finish of your opponent before they stabilize with their high cost drops.
DShift Rune is a very favourable matchup for you because your opponent has no way to interact with your Frog barring a spellboosted Fire Chain. Mulligan hard for the Frog and other support cards to kill your opponent before they can even dream of using their win condition against you.
Daria Rune is a harder matchup for this deck because they have the potential to blow out any deck in the game. There comes a point in the game where you have to stop taking trades with your opponent's followers and focus all your damage on killing them before they kill you. Cyclone Blade combined with a buffed up Frog can completely clear their board filled up with Daria and secure you an easy path to win against them.
As of writing this post most blood decks on the ladder use a very diverse set of cards to win the game. Most of them use the vengeance mechanic with either Blood Moon or Belphegor to either flood the board with turn 6 Snakes or unleash storm minions like Dark General to quickly finish out the game with other aggresive cards. Abuse the opponent's lack of plays early by setting up your board and putting pressure on their life total if possible. If Blood Moon is not seen on turn 3 keep in mind that the only way they can trigger vengeance is Belphegor or Soul Dealer on turn 4. Vagabond Frog and Kunoichi Trainee can dodge cards such as Righteous Devil and Diabolic Drain to keep damage on the board and deny any healing they might get. If the opponent plays too recklessly with their life you can easily finish them off with your evolved storm followers.
