Deck Overview

One of the strengths of the deck, and indeed puppet portalcraft in general, is the high strength of cost-to-effectiveness in its cards, and an -extremely- high number of '2-for-1' effects. Some examples of this:

Paracelsus- 7/7 in rush for 4, or 9/8 for 6 (or 8/9 for 6) so long as you evo. (and indeed, this is THE best evo target in the deck)
Coucoroux- 5/3 for 5, but with the ability to push 3 extra damage with Camieux, and 2 on clash.
Nicholas, Stalwart Inventor- 9/8 for 4 (over time) or 8 (immediately).
Even Automaton Knight, counts as a 4/3 for 3 (counting the puppet).
Puppeteer Strings- with 3 opposing creatures out... 5 effective damage.

Likewise- each card that can create more than one creature causes an opponent to utilize more resources dealing with each, something an aggro forestcraft is always trying to do which this deck is also incredibly good at.

The deck ... is a monster. It really is. It wants to be an aggro deck, a midrange deck, and a control deck, all at the same time... and it is. It simply utilizes its removal (which includes Strikeform Golem, Cucouroux, Lococo, Spinaria, Substitution, Puppeteer Strings, and Heartless Battle, and puppets)... to stay ahead on board state. It forces the opponent to be reactive rather than proactive, both going first and going second.

Example. Second turn Paracelsius into an open board. An opponent will want to answer. They place a creature... next turn you Silva out Cocouroux, kill the creature, and attack for 3, and are 2 up on boardstate. The Cocouroux becomes more threatening than Paracelsius. Thing is... you have these ideal plays all the way up if you know when to hold on to cards for their enhance effects.

You want to curve out if you can. But some cards of the same cost have higher priority in certain situations. For example, you'll always want to Hamelin turn 2 if you have something to target with it. You usually want to Cocouroux turn 5 unless you Silva her out turn 3, and you want to either Nicholas turn 4, or save him for turn 8. You want to Heartless Battle turn 7... unless you can't kill a priority target another way turn 5... there are a lot of such situations that take an understanding of game flow.

Interesting niche things you can do with the deck:
With Spinaria out, have Robomi or one of the Paracelsius Golems enter the field- Spinaria will trigger for them.
Have an Robomi still in amulet form, and then play a Nicholas for 8. Both Robomi will imediately activate.
Have a Lloyd the Android from Heartless Battle, then play Orchis, Resolute Puppet. You'll gain life from the pre-existing Lloyd the Android.
Use Silva with Cocouroux.
Use Silva with Automaton Knight, possibly kill 2 creatures in one turn.
Use Silva with Flower Doll and another 2 drop, run Flower Doll into something, and get both Flower Doll and a puppet to your hand on turn 3.
Hamelin Cocouroux or Paracelsius to really utilize evos effectively.
Orchis with one or no puppets in hand a turn before Vengeful Puppeteer Noah.
Play puppets out of your hand before playing Puppeteer Strings to avoid overfilling it rather than after.
Hold off a turn (or two) on playing Vengeful Puppeteer Noah in order to collect more puppets with other cards that will seal the game, which, otherwise, you might not be able to win by just running it out right away.

Anyway; if you play any Puppet Portalcraft, you may well be aware of some or all of those. Now I'd like to discuss my tech choices for the deck.
Rather than Basilius, Outworld Invader, I'm running 3 Puppeteer Strings. Why?
There are a full FOUR matchups I feel Puppeteer Strings to be a superior choice. Against aggro forestcraft, against Swordcraft, against Dragoncraft, and against the mirror match. Think of the puppets as versatile damage. If needed, they can be run out to kill multiple creatures- if not, they can be held on to in order to either provide Silva ping damage over time, or held for Orchis or Noah. Additionally, this can be done on turn 4 rather than 6, which slots very nicely on curve against aggro decks and does not require an evo point to use! This is a critical point- Basilius may clear a slightly larger board, but usually this is unnecessary, and Paracelsius and Cocouroux are far and away better evo targets. Even Spinaria and Nicholas are high use evo targets, and, as the deck wants to play, saving an evo for Basilius just isn't really playing aggressively enough.

I'm also playing 3 Heartless Battle rather than 3 Lococo or Spinaria. Why? To me, Heartless Battle represents a 3-for-1. Sometimes at 5, but usually at 7. Eg; Veronica kills something, needs to then be killed by another card (trading because of Bane), and the puppet from the card either kills something else or gets in for more damage with Orchis or Noah. The versatility of potentially being a Lloyd, though, makes the card a superior pick against the Giant Chimaera deck. That potential of having a Ward on the field is a significant reason for the choice over a 3rd Spinaria or Lococo. Additionally, the deck has a beautiful curve, which you can observe in playing it.

When you mulligan, the cards you'll always want to keep are: Silva, any 2 drop, any 3 drop (except possibly Substitution depending on the matchup), and Nicholas. Mully anything else.
